Willcox-San Simon NRCD

Conserving 2,145,846 acres of Arizona

The Willcox-San Simon Natural Resource Conservation District encompasses diverse landscapes from the Chiricahua Mountains to flat, open rangelands. Mostly cattle and wine are raised in this area, and the District works with producers to establish water conservation practices due to its scarcity and necessity.

Community Investment Project with South 32

In March 2024, Willcox-San Simon secured a $5,000 grant (with matching funds from AACD) to support cultural resource surveys for Tribal lands.

This project uses Social Investment funds from South 32, a mining and metals company, to support annual access to AZSITE, Arizona’s official cultural resources geodatabase, for Arizona Tribal government cultural resources personnel. This helps to get conservation practices on the ground in Arizona!
